Meet the Engineers
MATT TUTON
Matthew Austin Tuton Is a 20 year veteran of the music industry. Starting his journey as a front man for the band The Hundredth in his teens and early twenties and then branching out to all aspects of the industry. In order to express his artistic vision he was led into production and audio engineering by way of necessity and he began relentless musical study in all aspects of the craft. Pursuing a degree in Music Theory and Composition from the College of Charleston while independently studying modern music techniques and audio engineering rounded out his skill set to be able to execute things from both sides of the glass. After graduation at CofC he began producing records for artists as a way to get further endowed in the knowledge and craft of making great records. That pursuit became a clear career path and he hasn’t looked back.
DANIEL HERSHENSON
Daniel has an audio engineering degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and in 2017 achieved full certification in protools. His passion for tracking and mixing hip-hop music is unparalleled, as he continues to also learn and grow in other genres including rock. The Lab is thrilled to have him be a part of the continued growth of the studio. If you are also interested in learning how to record, mix, or master, Daniel is more than willing to help you achieve that.
DAVID J EDWARDS
David has a degree in Audio Engineering from Clemson University and a Minor in Percussion, and has put thousands of professional hours into studio tracking, studio mixing, live mixing, and drum performance. He has also spent the last 5 years navigating the music scene as a label head and musician, which has given him valuable success in music-release strategy, press, advertising, and other music business practices.
